Yes, or maybe your attorney was just following a given protocol or procedure related to an amount previously requested or offered. Concerning the judge, however, you have asked your attorney to re-present you even though you are present -- You are not "presenting" yourself -- and that means the judge will honor that by only listening to your attorney. Overall, however, I think it would not be unreasonable to ask your attorney to at least summarize the proceedings so you can understand and follow what is going on.
