I took a CBT course. Some of the material was taken from the DBT model - like mindfulness and catastrophic thinking tools. It was one on one for 3 months.
I did this in addition to self-help tools. There is a (go ahead and laugh in disbelief) "DBT for Dummies" book out there. I used the CBT version and it was very helpful as it had a day-at-a-time format which not only had worksheets and excercises but directed journalling too. They are written in a manner that they take 90 days to complete. I highly recommend either of these books as they borrow from the best of the theories and practices out there.
