Hello all,
I am new here, and I am curious to see objective opinions of my situation.
I started a new job this month. I am 31 year old, apparently to others, attractive female (but never behave to attract attention or dress provocatively, I am very professional). First week of training, one of the new colleagues (21 year old male) raised his hand to ask a question about the presentation. He was sitting in front of me and playing with his phone all the time. While talking, he steered his phone towards me and took a picture, then continued chatting on the phone (I saw facebook messanger). During the break I said - were you testing your camera flash? (everyone saw the flash as it was very bright). Then I had a chat with the trainer about another topic and said, btw I didn't want to make a big deal out of this, it only impressed me because he took a picture of me which I find unusual, otherwise I wouldn't notice. 3 weeks later my manager comes into the office and starts a chat with me, insisting that our conversation is recorded in the chat history and not live. He said - there is a word going on that you and one of the team guys had something happening. He specified that it was about that picture and I said yes, I found it unusual that he took a picture of me but didn't dig any further as I don't care. Then my mgr went to a meeting with the mgr staff immediately, then they came back and I had the impression at the moment that something was going on. So I went to him, and said - can I have just 2 minutes of your time to ask you a question about the topic we discussed? He was very reluctant to have a private conversation with me and I had to convince him certain time to spare 2 minutes with me in one of the conference rooms. Then I asked him if I should be concerned about this conversation and if there is anything on my end, and he said that it was standard for the trainer to share personal impressions about the new hires, and that was it. This happened 2 days ago, since then I don't know what is the atmosphere at work as I got the flu and took a sick leave.
