i was on topamax for a while. it doesnt have a stimulant effect. it mainly just suppresses your appetite. i did lose weight on it and was taken off. it also did have the weird brain side effects, like not knowing what words to use when speaking, and my face and hands would have an intense tingling feeling. topamax is a strange drug that affects the frontal lobe... it is originally an anti-epileptic drug...they do not know why it works on mood stabilization, like most all other psych meds...they arent sure exactly why they work the way they do!
