I did the party scene many years with my folks.
My one 1/2 brother was self medicating on street drugs. And stealing. So we didn't want anything to do with him. We tried. But he didn't want help. Preferred living on the street or in drug dens with his druggie pals.
So I'm relieved that now they're older, they've picked up the slack.
I haven't spent Christmas with them for 19 years.
They don't want to come to Costa Rica. Ok with me.
I do believe that they do understand that they trigger episodes. Maybe I'm kidding myself.
Either way, I'm healthier on my own.
