If a guy is leaving you because you are not ready to sleep with him, he is not worth your time! I have kids your age and my advice to them is if you are not comfortable talking about sex with the person you're planning on sleeping with, then your not ready to have sex.

You'll know when your ready. At that time, if you are still afraid, then I would delve deeper into that topic, what is it that frightens you, why etc. But for the time being, you're young and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

I would be a little concern about not being comfortable enough with your gyn to tell him/her that you are not sexually active. For your own sake find a doctor you are comfotable with.
