Hello gonegirl99: I'm sorry you find yourself to be in such a difficult situation. I don't know if counseling would actually help or not. But I think it is worth a try if you can arrange it. Sometimes just having someone to talk with about your problems can help. Plus it can sometimes produce ideas for ways to proceed you might not have thought of on your own.

You didn't mention what happened that resulted in you losing your job. Really the key here, it sounds to me, is to get out there & find another job. You list your location as being Houston. Assuming that we're talking Houston, Texas, there must be many employment opportunities available. Make looking for a new job your present job. For one thing, the more employers you see (in person) the more likely you'll find a new job. Plus, if you're out actively seeking new employment, you won't be hanging around home with your mother & sister!

At the end of your post, you asked if you can be a success story or a tragic one. Only you know the answer to that question. I don't know how you would define success. It is true that, sometimes, things don't turn out the way we expect. But we can still find peace of mind & contentment. I send you my best wishes with the hope that you will be able to find the strength to pursue peace of mind & contentment in your own life.
