Happy New year to everyone!
To introduce myself, i will say that i have debilitating health anxiety, and specifically when it comes to the breast.
Im 27 year old which medical testing more than i can ever remember (breast biopsy at age of 22! and many more....)
recently i went for breat ultrasound just for reassurance purposes cuz i didnt feel a thing! my dr told me everything was normal, but when i saw the report, i saw they saw a cyst, and a 08 cm intrammary lymph node. i didnt even feel a thing. then i was prodding at the area, which was much further down in the breast, under arm, for some reason i prob never felt that area when doing breast exam. anyway, i felt a large marble like ball that was very moveable. i couldnt believe this was the node they were talking about cuz it felt bigger than 08 cm! so i went back to ob/gyn, and bec she knows my and my high anxiety, she sent my for another ultrasound, 2 weeks after i went for the 1st! sonographer told me she see's same thing!
but i was panicking cuz the lump felt soo big and SCARYYYY. but the dr said its a typical lymph node nothng to worry about at all.
i was not relieved so i had someone show the report only (which btw was assessed as birads 2) to a breast surgeon and he told me nothing to worry about at all. birads 2 is a great catergory. then i have a family member that is very good with the director of radiology of breast center in my neighborhood. i had her look at ehe actual images itself and she called to tell me everything looks really fine. only lymph node which is totally normal.
the last sentence she threw in, "just monitor it" when i asked her if it can become problematic, she said, typically not.
but im sure you know monitoring for someone with HA, is adding fuel to an already burning flame!
basically, now i have this question.
does this lymph node in the breast put me at higher risk for developing BC? is this node any different than any typical node on the body that can anytime change?
i would also love to know, why this would appear out of no where, its not like its even enlarged or anything. no infection or illness...
please share if you have any info on this!
Thank you!
