Hey Everyone!
Within the past year or so there has been an extreme amount of drama at my workplace. It is to the point that I have been having anxiety attacks, waking up in the middle of the night, and most recently I just started to cry out of the blue because of the situation. Now I feel like I am bringing this drama on myself and I feel like I am the crazy one!
The drama stems from mainly 1 person, although this person gets everyone in the group riled up and they all end up having part of the drama. There is constant whispers, trash talking of the company/other workers, complaining, ect. This person has made it quite clear that she was treating another coworker differently, and made a bad situation worse with it. It is also very clear that the other people in the team act totally different when she is around, vs when she isn't around. She will make sarcastic comments, and always has something to say about everything and everyone. She has had an issue at one point with everyone in the department. She thinks one co-worker is threatened and out to get her, one she thinks is lazy, ect.
With that being said, I have let a lot of stuff go but more recently(after she has a HUGE blow up with a coworker in the summer) I have let my opinion be known to my manager and CEO of the company(CEO is my sister, as info). My sister will ask if any drama is going on, ect, and I do tell her. I have also let my manager know as well. I get the old, we will take care of it! And nothing gets done. We hired an employee in September to work under me, and within 2 weeks of being there she had complained about the drama in that department. I was honestly embarrassed that we were hiring someone into the environment we have back there, but I needed a second hand.
Fast forward to now, where I don't even want to go to work and I have started to look for a new job. It is so tense, and not somewhere I want to be. It is really effecting me at home and at work.
Now I am second guessing myself and I feel like maybe I should just have kept my mouth shut? At what point is drama enough to go to a hire up and tell them? Am I the petty one for complaining about it?
