If it IS a hemorrhoid, i can speak to that. I am the queen of hemorrhoids! Yes, they can last a long time and feel really bad. I do what i can to stop mine from bleeding, so if you are not taking those actions, i would suppose they would keep bleeding. Cuz everytime you pooped, they could start to bleed again.
A medication called a stool softener, NOT a laxative, makes your poops easier to pass, allowing a hemorrhoid to heal. And you should alter your diet to not be constipated.
There are two kinds of hemorrhoids, one is like a vein bubble; sometimes they poke out and you can push them back in. See medicine, below.
The other is called a fissure, its like a longish crack - this one usually hurts worse. Like it can wake you up at night throbbing.
Medicine: 1. Soak your (clean) butt in a warm bath.
2. Clean your butt with Tucks or other wipes. It might sting!
3. There are over the counter suppositories and creams. I always apply a little cream to the top of the suppository, i dont know how it would go in otherwise!
Colonoscopy: if you do have hemorrhoids, the "cleanout" process to prepare is gonna hurt like heck. My aunt had to have surgery on her butt afterwards because of her hemorhoidds, but her colon was fine! So if i were you, i would try to "baby" my hemorrhoids as much as possible in the meantime and see if that helps. It cant hurt. Good luck!
