I suspect chronic depression has greatly diminished my capacity for assessing my life's meaning. A proper assessment of my life's meaning may not be possible until my story has ended.

At present, my living at least serves to justify the expenditure of Other People's Money.

Is it possible - has any doctor suggested - that depression was the early, first presentation of the chronic illness?
