Not sure if it matters to you, but there's actually a name for it. Dermatillomania.

Some say it's part of the OCD spectrum, some say Impulse Control Disorder and some say it's Self-injury.
I guess like everything else they have to "name" it.

And yes, DPM, it is hard to stop and hard to treat.
