I'm not a guy but I won't cry in front of anyone, and very seldom do I cry alone. In my family, man or woman, you don't cry. You just don't or you'll get a reason to.
Possible Trigger Below
I remember crying because I busted my knee cap real bad, well I got a slap to the back of the head and was told to shut my mouth. When I was seen crying again because of it, my busted knee was kicked, hard. I didn't cry in front of anyone for over ten years after that. I don't believe this was right and it sure as hell wasn't right how my dad mocked my brother the only time we saw him cry. I believe people should be allowed to let it out, man or woman. After all, it's a coping mechanism, let that person use it. At the same time, I don't know how to act around someone who's crying and get so awkward I laugh and look like a **** head. Oddly, I'm more comfortable with men who do it over women. I do, however, acknowledge the double standard over the matter and it pisses me off.
