I know that short temper is a symptom of ADHD, a disorder that I do have, but treatment (therapy and medication) have helped me a lot in that regard.
IMO, try to focus on treating the symptoms instead of tying to pin the symptoms down on a disorder.
I know that Lamictal has helped me a lot with my chronic pissiness. Something about a mood stabilizer seems to have helped. But also, being able to talk it out in therapy is great too!

And it sounds like you are level headed...and that all of the stuff you do to help yourself is helping.
