College isn't worth the expense unless you know exactly what you're going to do and how to apply it to a job. I went back to university recently, in my late 30s, and I regret the decision. If you don't have financial support the loans you will incur are not worth it. I agree with what others have said; it's good to find a job and work your way up! I wish I had stayed at my last job and took the promotion I was offered rather than return to academia with all the stress and financial pressure.
