Just take a notebook with you to your appointment. When you're sitting in the waiting room, take three minutes to remember what you can and write down a word or two for each thing that comes to mind. It doesn't have to be a letter or a journal, but it's something to glance at while you're in the room talking. Believe me, the investment pays off big time.
I just take my work notebook and jot a few cryptic things that would mean nothing to anyone else. If I have med questions, I write an abbreviation for the med and the question I have. Again, it's worth the time spent even if it's only a couple minutes.
