The motivation must be tough in commission only jobs.

Not that I practice this perfectly but I think planning and scheduling is key. You have to schedule times when you are going to concentrate on just ONE thing but definitely not overschedule. In retrospect, sometimes I became overwhelmed and exhausted from working to much (or maybe it was untreated mental illness).

Copying successful people makes sense. You are in a competitive business so it must be hard to find good mentors. There are many jobs I have had where I was only successful because my supervisor took the time to encourage and advise me. When bosses are like that, you feel less anxious while navigating the "learning curve". If you know your supervisor wants you to succeed and believes in you, it is extremely helpful. I hate bad bosses!

Anyways, I no longer have a job or career but I hope yours takes off. I bet your clients enjoy working with you. Likability and trust has to be an important factor and I bet most people find you to possess both of these qualities.
Thanks for this!
