Mine came on suddenly. One day I was fine and the next I had a terrible migraine and then the next day I couldn't stop crying. It's been up and down ever since and that was 32 years ago. I fight depression ever day with some mania from time to time, but mostly depression. I sucks. My heart goes out to you.
