Is there such a thing as stress training? I read an article about people with high stress, reactive jobs- police officers, EMTs, army positions, etc- and how their subconscious training automatically takes over even if their conscious mind wants to freeze. Is there any kind of therapy or practice (whether specifically for anxiety or not) that utilizes this, almost like brain boot camp? I'm sick of shutting down in the most mild of stressful situations and even years of good therapy have not been enough to rewire two decades of learned passivity in the face of danger or anxiety.

I've accepted that anxiety will probably always play a role in my life, I want to learn to funnel it into something more useful than adrenaline-laced dissociation.
