It's taken me such a long time to get to the point where I can utter certain things and hearing that makes me feel like I'm being abandoned in a way. Let me just say I like my T a lot but this is just how I'm feeling about it and I do plan to bring this up. Does anyone get the feeling that this is an easy out for T's to just say go get EDMR or Brainspotting?
Anyways, if any of you have had experience with either I'd like to know how beneficial it was. I know brainspotting is relatively new and there are a lot of success stories but I'd really like to hear how this has helped right from someone who has done it. I know I need to do this but I'm just trying to get informed as much as possible.
Kindly,

What is brain spotting? I've tried EMDR and it wasn't the best choice at that point. I think you have to be at a certain place in your healing before EMDR can help, mine was way too soon after the major trauma. For that reason I think the EMDR dug up some issues that I thought had been dealt with in the past. No way to prove that, but that's how I feel about it. I've heard good things from others about EMDR, the BIG thing is to get someone who is very well trained in it. Someone who takes the time to determine a safe place for you before you go into it and will have ample time afterwards to make sure you feel safe before you leave. Best wishes and keep us informed.
