I want to wrap you in a bubble
keep you safe from all the trouble
the human race has caused such strife
we've been here only a second in your life

Before at dawn your beauty shone
a different world to look upon
scenes we can only now summise

When man was born did you predict
Just how much we'd make you sick?
Drain the life from your very core
Did you know we'd keep taking more?

Did you know we'd scar your face with greed
through fighting and war we'd make you bleed?
we made you thirsty, drained your resources
by not treating you well your fate this causes.

We were given a gift, we've mistreated you
Planet Earth it makes me blue
to see your happy face turn so sad
I feel your depression and I feel bad.

So sorry we've caused you so much trouble
wish I could give you that protective bubble.
