Yes I know many "special agents" I am not one-- assuming your talking about FBI or DEA (federal agent) etc. It is a lot. Probably 4 to 6 years as a cop and detective. Or military. Most likely a law degree.

It might be a LOT more boring that you might think. A lot of paper work. Lots of late nights and early mornings BUT, you get a great benefits package and likely early retirement (54).
