A severe shortage in my town. At this point I have to do tele-appointments (like Skype) with a pdoc in another town because there simply aren't enough pdocs in my town. There truly IS a shortage of mental health professionals in the U.S., I've read about and heard about it. I don't know why, really, there is such a shortage. Perhaps it has to do with the difficulty and stress of dealing with mentally ill patients, and about insurance stuff. There are plenty of articles online about the shortage problem.
