Hello ClumsySmurf85: To answer your question... yes... I do believe there can be an addictive quality to self-harm. At least that has been the case for me in the past. I don't know why that is. But I do believe it is the case. At least at the time, the more I did it, the more I wanted to do it.

What may annoy you about being told you are addicted to self-harming is that whoever is saying it is sort-of suggesting that you could just stop if you really wanted to. In that context, it's really sort-of a back-handed put-down. And that certainly would be annoying. To say there is an addictive quality to self-harming is not the same thing as someone sort-of slyly suggesting you could just stop if you really wanted to.
