Hi LauraBeth ... A shortage in your town also? At least we haven't come to Skype appts. yet, but I have heard of that in some of the rural areas around us.
A friend of mine who works for a psychiatrist in a Southern state said they have a huge problem there also. In her doctor's case, it is due to the poor reimbursement...and I always thought psychiatrists got paid so well! Apparently they charge plenty, but don't always get reimbursed well. If that is what is going on, that is just so sad because young doctors won't want to go into that field.
