Thanks, BBT7. That's exactly my problem, plus lack of experience - the supermarket was my first and only job, not counting a week's work experience in high school when I was 16. In theory, I could live without the cash - I get a student loan, and my parents are giving me a bit of money on top of that. It's the experience I need...and unfortunately the experience I need most is that of working with others, which is the part I find hardest!

And that's what's worrying me, because 99% of jobs involve other people, and I doubt my parents would let me get one that didn't. If I could get a job that's relevant to my course then that might make it worth putting up with the bad stuff, but that's going to be hard to find...although maybe a bit less so once I've finished my first year.
