My experience was very different from yours....I'm the one that walked out after 33 years & wish I had done it a lot earlier in life. I moved across the country 2100 miles away. Divorce from out of state is different. He didn't want a divorce, said it would make him look like a loser & he kept talking me into staying or making it too difficult for me to leave until I finally got fed up & finally sold my moms house after she died. Took my inheritance & left (feels like an escape honestly)

9 years separated though we were separated 13 years while living in the same house. He thought because I tolerated him forb33 years that I would just tolerate him the rest of our lives. I finally realized the REAL reason behind my suicide attempts. At the time thought it was the only way out of the marriage until my mom died of cancer.

The peace I felt after him was amazing. I didn't miss him for a moment....I have no intention of ever getting married again after that.
