My biggest regret was not taking the initiative to take control of my own problems sooner. I was a brat. I asked for help but I don't think the people in my life were equipped to handle my issues or even knew how to put me in contact with people that did. I believe that had I done so I would be further along my life path instead of taking so many detours that I got lost.

My second biggest regret is much like your own. I wasn't there when I was needed but I did and do have the opportunity to set things right.

I think that regrets are a unescapable fact of life. All I can do is try to make it right and if I can't well then I will just have to learn to accept it.
