A journal can be anything you want it to be,it can be like a daily diary,it can have recipes,thoughts,drawings,anything goes.
I have many different journals,some on paper,some online,I like to go back and read old entries when I am feeling down because it helps me see the progress I have made.I also like to read through them when I am struggling with something,see how I have handled it or something similar in the past.
I also kept a 'therapy' journal for the entire 5 years I went.It is very helpful to go back and read entries in it.
