You can work while on disability. The last time I checked the amount was somewhere around $800 a month. I would call you local social security office and request the information in writing. When you begin working, and periodically, you may have to report earnings to SSDI so they know you aren't making more than you're allowed.
But yes, you can work part-time on disability.
