I've been on Abilify several times but had to come off of it each time because it caused extreme cravings for sugar while I was on it so I was buying a lot of chocolate and birthday cakes from the bakery fairly often which caused weight gain for me.

I don't have any personal experience with Neurontin.

After Abilify didn't work out, my dr. put me on Seroquel which does take away my depressed moods and hasn't caused any weight gain so we've stuck with Seroquel.

I do think Abilify is a good medicine too. I used to have crying spells every morning I'd wake up and after a few days on Abilify, I'd wake up and didn't have the crying spells. I probably would have stayed on Abilify if it hadn't caused me extreme sugar cravings and cost so much.
