Hello Avalonia708: I hate to be stating the obvious here.

But the usual way these sorts of things are addressed is via therapy. One has to talk these kinds of things out at length over a period of time, presumably with a counselor or mental health therapist.

One's family & friends cannot be the ones one does this with, in my opinion. This is not to say there are not other approaches. But therapy is the mainstream approach nowadays... the one most people pursue... or at least that is my impression... Perhaps other membeers, here on PC, will have some different ideas to share...
