I've been unemployed since summer 2010, aside from very sporadic freelance work, and yesterday I got a part time job.
It's not the greatest job in the world, it's telemarketing for a newspaper, and only pays minimum wage, plus a small commission on sales.
It's Mon. to Fri. 5 to 9 pm with the option of working a full day shift on Sat.
I really need the money, to supplement my savings which I've been living off of. I'm still looking for full time work, but this buys me some space in that it means I can support myself for the full year (assuming I can keep the job) without having to apply for disability or go to a family member for help.
I feel really lucky to have landed this job.
