Yes, I would allow for more time to pass.

I don't immediately reply to texts. I just don't find them the same priority as other methods of communication - like the phone. Unless the situation requires an immediate response I will leave doing so until later. In fact, I don't even check my texts except for maybe once a day to begin with.

If this is something you DO need an immediate response from the more appropriate way to communicate would have been to do so over the phone. If it's not too late, give her a call.
