Dustin:
don't drive yourself crazy with thoughts that may not ever come to fruition. When I had my Hysterectomy, it wasn't all that cut and dry. I had to come down off the pain meds, and that can sometimes takes DAYS, to do. Especially if she got
morphine! That alone, throws you for a loop. Depending on how she feels and her level of pain management would have been a deciding factor in letting her go home. I was in the hospital for five days, but then I had a bladder tack, and a second operation on my left breast at the time. So that may have something to do with my stay. However: recovery is very slow for some people, and given her age...
45?, well, even a Hysterectomy can knock you down no matter what condition you're in!!!!
You must give her some TIME to heal, and not rush her to come back to work. I have the feeling that that's not going to happen. Even if they did a vaginal hysterectomy, she has
stitches inside her that need to heal. And she'd be very SORE to sit up any length of time. I do not know how she thinks she'll be up and around that soon. It took me SIX weeks to recover from it all. Besides that, you can't move around alot for several weeks after you have a hysterectomy
anyway. It takes just about six weeks to fully recover. So, you just might have to hang in there a bit? You don't want her to push herself too soon Dustin. That would not be good for her at all. Maybe her husband has something to do with that too? He's taking care of her.
Anyway, I've told you what my experience was, and that;s the truth, not as I know, but as I LIVED it!!! I'd be real surprised if she came back to work that soon?
Take care. Give her time to heal. Email her and tell her you're thinking of her. That's all. She will appreciate that at this time.
