I don't get why people tip 15% for someone to bring a plate of food to your table, but have the nerve to pay nothing or a fraction of a percent of the hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars a person would spend on a hotel stay when the housekeepers bust their butts and handles all kinds of biohazards including blood, poop, pee, vomit, and semen, and have to pick up the most disgusting things like condoms, dirty underwear, used feminine products, stained sheets, etc and then have to make a disgusting, dirty, trashed room into something sparkling and perfect for the next guest. Some people have the nerve to leave quarters, and once I was literally tipped in Chuck E. Cheese tickets.
I honestly think you should tip at least 15% of what you paid for your hotel room, which is about $25 FOR ONE NIGHT. If you're staying multiple nights and ask for the housekeepers, I'd pay half each time that they clean your room because usually it's never the same housekeeper. I don't understand why people don't tip their housekeepers who work 100x harder than a waitress.
