Doesn't sound stupid at all, you love them. Of course it hurts.

It's hard to come to terms with this kind of loss because I guess there isn't really any closure. Unlike when someone dies, you know that's it. There's a funeral and you can gradually accept that you will never see the person again. But with your nephews you just don't know if you will get to see them again or not.
