This exercise was meant to help you recognize your challenged areas. When someone has experienced a major Trauma, or even several Traumas and PTSD develops, the individual tends to become very sensitive and "react' more. I would expand on this to include to be careful as you think about all this. You can't just be more assertive. That kind of CBT stuff won't work in this context, and you run the risk of experiencing what you perceive to be another failure. You might consider a pretty frank discussion with your T about why you were supposed to look these up.
