My H drinks a fair amount of alcohol AND water. So if we're out (or at home) and having beer, he's going to the bathroom seemingly constantly. Actually, he's like that when he's just drinking coffee and water, too (I mean, he's had to get up to use the bathroom near the end of a 50-minute marriage counseling session or during my daughter's speech therapy before). So that would be one negative side effect.

I need to start doing the thing where I have to have a full glass/bottle of water between every drink. That would slow me down and moderate my drinking considerably, since I also can't drink tons of liquid at a time (but more than you, apparently!). For whatever reason, I find it easier to drink more of things that are carbonated, so I often drink seltzer or other types of carbonated water.
