My daughter. John is coming back into the fold. It cannot be David, because he "taught me to fish" rather than to "feed me."

"Maybe one has offered but hasn't come through? Another just won't help."

The ex-husband and the present one. The friendly hug was the ex, but the hug and kiss had passion in them, the present husband. Neither of them came through with their promises to me or my expectations of them.

"I'm a little fuzzy on who the 3 women are"

It's entirely possible that one of them is a member here but then... "three women," my family of origin!

"And the children"

Just this instant, I remembered the song from Rogers and Hammerstein "The King and I". It made me want to tear up. The main wife singing to the nanny "The children... the children!"

"The children" could be a mix of John's kids and me at that age. Hmmm... maybe my daughter's boys, too. The other four are very well taken care of, even the two being raised by a single father.
