Dear LT,
I knew you'd get all upset when I said those things. But they're the truth. You want to think you're special, but you're just my job. I know I act super caring and like we have this connection and stuff, but that's what it is--an act. I mean, yeah, I care, but how much can you care about 1 of 35 people you see in a week? I only have so much caring space in my head. And, as you know (even though I wish you didn't), I'm dealing with lots of other emotions right now.

Any minute now, you're going to call me or text me or e-mail me, even though I said to talk to H first. You're not good at following rules with me. You just act out of emotion, just like the teens I work with.

Oh, and I know it's your birthday tomorrow because you mentioned it. But I didn't tell you happy birthday because that might make you feel special or something. Figured I'd better not take the chance. Even though I wished it to you the past 2 years.
