Hi, I recently posted about becoming certified to facilitate NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) groups. I'm really excited about the certification and looking forward to leading a group. Well, yesterday I received a phone call telling me that I've been appointed to be on the Mental Health Board in my county. The president of my local Mental Health Board is connected with NAMI, we've gotten to know each other, and he asked me to submit an application to serve on the board. I did so and have been appointed. I am just delighted! A month ago I was so isolated and lonely...keep hoping, praying, waiting for opportunities to connect with others and to serve my community and what do you know? It's happening!

The first board meeting I'll attend is on 2/22. I'm not sure what to expect yet, but I might hit up the PC community for feedback on ideas for mental health needs.
