Hey Moose, I apologize for offending you. That's not my intent at all. The crux of what I was saying was in the last sentence which was praising you for making the wise decision to take time and plan for the expense. However you do it; if it's a tax return splurge or whatever, that's a great way of planning for the purchase.

My own finances are very tight due to a couple large debts I incurred while manic, and the only way I've gotten ahold of it is to work with a budget and do my best to plan for expenses. It's done a lot to curb my own impulse spending, and I commend anyone who takes the time to think before dropping a large sum on an impulse purchase. You asked if it was hypo, and I don't think it was. It's perfectly natural to want things - the hypo behavior would have been to buy the tank and then add on a couple really expensive fish.

Regarding the Wellbutrin, I think the doc is afraid of pushing me towards mania. Part of the reason I want it is because you have shared your positive experiences with it, and for that I thank you. The depressions I've experienced over the last months have been kinda dark, and they appear out of nowhere, last for a couple days, and then lift. It's a strange set of moods that I've not experienced before, and I'm kind of at a loss regarding what to do about them. My fear for the Lamictal increase is that it has the potential to make my mood flat and not let me experience any joys.
