Hello Everyone
This is my first post. Thank you for all of the support and advice given here!
I have been taking Lamictal 150mg 2x a day, Wellbutrin IR 300mg 1x for almost 4years for MDD, GAD and SAD. I have tried adding an AP med several times over this period of time. Abilify 5mg worked great the first time, but after I got married, I was unable to get it for free through the clinic I went to. I didn't have insurance at that time and Abilify was over $300 a month, so I had to go off of it. I started going down hill. My world turned very dark and it stayed that way until the NP at the clinic gave me Risperdil. This med made me so dizzy and very clumsy, but I stuck with it for 2 months and finally I couldn't take it anymore because the side effects wouldn't go away. It didn't work either. Then I finally got insurance and was so happy I could get back on the Abilify!! This time, it made me miserable I gained 10 lbs in 1 month and I felt more depressed because of this. I decided to get off right away. So I continued on the Lamictal and Wellbutrin, it was helping so little and my anxiety was still high and racing thoughts were prominent. The NP would do absolutely nothing to help with my anxiety, it was so frustrating! Because after almost a year, I had insurance I dropped the clinic and went to see a real Pdoc. She kept me on the Lamictal 2x a day. She also said the fact I was taking Wellbutrin IR 1x in the morning was why it was causing me to get worse at night, so she switched me to WellbutrinXR in the morning. She gave me the lowest dose of Ativan for emergencies and added Rexulti to my regimen. She wanted me to take it in the morning, but I was scared it would make me tired and I have a 7yr old and I can't be tired. So for the first 3 nights I took it at night. It caused me to wake up several times and my dreams were crazier that they normally are. I've been reading a little bit about it, but there isn't much out there. Some people say it's energizing, so I didn't take it last night and took it this morning with my other meds. I haven't had to take the Ativan yet for any anxiety. I think since seeing the new Pdoc, has me very hopeful about my future and it becoming normal that I'm not getting any anxiety ATM.
I am so sorry to spew a long story. I thought it could help to understand my journey and for anyone to give me some insight on the combo of meds I'm on or about Rexulti on its own.
Thank you all for being awesome!
