I do understand that Avinza has a half-life of 24 hours and it is Morphine Sulfate. The 15mg of Morphine Sulfate is for break-thru pain.

Toda y, my husband did talk me into taking an additional Avinza 3 hrs. after first dosing. Again, I had absolutely no pain releif. I do not normally dose against the drs. orders. I was just in so much pain that i could not function and could not escape the pain.

I see my pain specialist on Monday afternoon. The only complication is that the pain is preventing me from sleeping. I receive 0 to 1-2 hours of sleep per night due to the pain jolting me awake. Even though I am exhausted, I can not go back to sleep. If I am not able to be rested on Monday, I am concerned as to how I will safely drive to his office as I have to take an interstate to get there.

Hopefully, he will be aggressive in treating my condition so that I can regain my life. I am basically desperate, although, he will say that I am depressed which I am not.
