I had to do a very accurate psych assessment. It was done by one clinician. (Long story why I had to do it).
Thorough background check into years of therapy, clinician talked to old therapists / family. I had to do two lengthy psych exams.
I got borderline as primary diagnosis as well as high on Avoidant and Dependent traits; I met criteria for all of them. And yes - people do often have comorbid diagnosis.
