In terms of panic, quick acting drugs such as Ativan (lorazepam), Xanax (alprazolam) or Klonopin (clonazepam). For more general anxiety, benzodiazepines there are a bunch of medications of that class that can be used for anxiety. Xanax, Klonopin, Librium... The more fast acting ones are more appropriate for panic, as benzos that act slower may only start kicking in once the panic has passed.

I recommend sublingual versions, as they act much faster, a plus for their use in controlling a panic attack.

A long term option that isn't an antidepressant are antipsychotics Seroquel, usually the XR version. It was approved for that use.
