Thanks TicTacGo, at my last appointment he mentioned there was another drug he was willing to prescribe but it's not covered under the PBS (I've narrowed it down to Klonopin) & it's not as expensive as I thought so I'll ask him about that. As for the faster acting meds I might ask about lorazepam (you only get prescribed alprazolam here mainly as a last resort, or if you've got a doctor who's willing to give it out, not many are).
I was on Seroquel XR in the mornings but got little to nothing from it aside from the fact it made me extremely lazy. I take normal seroquel at night which helps me sleep & calms me down nice & good but it isn't an option for me to take it in the day, they tried that in hospital for me as a PRN & I was basically a zombie
