I think you misunderstood: I didn't cancel on him at all. He was in the city already, staying with another friend. He originally asked me to come in on Saturday. Then asked me to come in on Friday instead (for no other reason than to hang out with me for longer). The only thing I was asking for was to switch back to Saturday as he originally intended so my boyfriend and I could celebrate our Anniversary on Friday.

I don't think that's unreasonable. That's why I said it was a win-win. And I don't think my anniversary is a "better plan", it is a special date that means a lot to us.

And either way, if he didn't have a place to stay, of course I was going to take him in. I just felt like I had to express my feelings. But I wasn't going to leave him out with no place to stay.
