Yes, depression can do that. Are you on antidepressants? I have found that some antidepressants can put me in one "place" and leave me there. Pristiq took care of the depression for me for several years but I was in one place pretty much, if you know what I mean.

But yes, it's pretty common to be numbed out when you are depressed.
